The Englishman has worked incredibly hard to get to the top of the mountain, but unfortunately, the promotion is pushing forward with plans for Jones to battle Miocic.

In the co-main event of UFC 304, Tom Aspinall faced Curtis Blaydes, handing ‘Razor’ a first-round knockout defeat. Following the victory, the interim heavyweight champion called for a bout with Jon Jones.

Dana White has confirmed that Jon Jones will defend his heavyweight title against Stipe Miocic in the main event of UFC 309 on November 16. Jones (27-1 MMA), arguably the greatest fighter in MMA history, will be returning to action for the first time since claiming the promotion’s then-vacant heavyweight title with a submission win over Ciryl Gane at UFC 285 in March of 2023. ‘Bones’ was originally slated to fight Miocic in the main event of UFC 295 but was forced to withdraw from the contest after suffering a torn pectoral in training.

While the newly crowned champion was expected to face Stipe Miocic in November, that bout was canceled due to injury.

He scored the TKO victory and now looks primed for a future undisputed championship bout against the winner of Jones vs. Miocic.

Jones submitted ‘Bon Gamin’ in the first round, winning UFC heavyweight gold in the process.
