Zhang Weili has an idea of who could challenge her next for the UFC Women’s Strawweight Championship. Weili competed in the co-main event of UFC 292. She put her gold at stake against Amanda Lemos. While Lemos showed tremendous heart, Weili’s pressure and top control dominated the fight. The bout went all five rounds and Weili retained her gold via unanimous decision.

Jessica Andrade will be making the walk to the Octagon for the fourth time in 2023. The UFC announced in a press release on Tuesday that Andrade will face Tatiana Suarez at UFC Nashville at strawweight. Originally, Suarez was supposed to fight Virna Jandiroba, but the Brazilian has suffered an injury and will be replaced by the former champ in Andrade. The main event of UFC Nashville sees Cory Sandhagen taking on Umar Nurmagomedov.

Being able to maintain an undefeated record is no easy feat, especially when there are so many rising stars on the UFC roster. Yet strawweight contender Tatiana Suarez has just done that. Currently holding a 9-0 record, it may be no surprise that some are comparing her to the undefeated UFC lightweight champ Khabib Nurmagomedov. Suarez made her UFC debut in The Ultimate Fighter in 2016. She beat Amanda Cooper via d’arce choke in the first round and took home the victory. Since then she has continued competing in the Octagon and beaten worthy contenders including Nina Ansaroff last month at UFC 238. Having earned this massive win, Tatiana Suarez is now just a few short steps away from a title fight with UFC strawweight champion Rose Namajunas. And while she might have to take another fight in the meantime, she feels she’s more than capable dispatching Namajunas when they inevitably share the cage. In fact, she believes she can thump Namajunas even more decisively than she just beat Carla Esparza. Esparza, after all, is a wrestler, and Suarez soundly out-wrestled her.
