VIDEO | Team Alpha Male coach Justin Buchholz makes comeback, kicks the s**t out of downed opponent

Team Alpha Male is one of the most successful camps in MMA. The Sacramento-based camp, which was founded by former WEC featherweight champ Urijah Faber, is home to UFC bantamweight champion Cody Garbrandt, UFC featherweights Chad Mendes, Darren Elkins, Andre Fili and Teruto Ishihara, UFC flyweight Joseph Benavidez, and former UFC lightweight Danny Castillo. The camp is also the former home of MMA stars Paige VanZant and TJ Dillashaw.

Much of the recent success of this camp can be attributed to head coach Justin Buchholz, a UFC veteran who has won lightweight titles in several smaller organizations.

Lately, Buchholz has been focused on his coaching duties, rather than his own fighting career. Last night, however, the UFC veteran made a triumphant return to the cage, as he headed up to Alaska for a short notice bout with Marques Facine at AFC 133, which aired on UFC Fight Pass.

Buchholz’s return to action was incredibly violent. Once his opponent hit the mat, the Team Alpha Male coach proceeded to kick his body into a pile of putty, and kick him in the head as he attempted to stand up. See the a clip of this incredibly brutal finish, which appears to be legal, at the top of this post.

With this win, the Team Alpha Male head coach rebounds from a three-fight losing-streak, which is composed of split decision losses to Clay Collard and Lewis Gonzales, and a KO loss to Ernest Chavez, which occurred all the way back in 2015. His overall record now stands at 15-10.

Whether Buchholz returns to an active competition schedule remains to be seen, but he certainly still seems to have the skills required to cut it in the cage.

What do you think of this absolutely brutal finish from the Team Alpha Male head coach?
