The UFC has released the first trailer for the return of The Ultimate Fighter as fans prepare for the 29th season of the show. The return of TUF has been a long time coming but finally, we’ve arrived at the new season with a brand new set of coaches and fighters. The divisions that’ll be featured are bantamweight and middleweight, with top 145-pounders Alexander Volkanovski and Brian Ortega serving as the head coaches.
TUF 28 winner Juan Espino explains absence, gives timeframe for return

If you watched The Ultimate Fighter 28 you would know the two winners were Juan Espino and Macy Chiasson. Since winning it, Chiasson has fought twice and has her third fight booked. Juan Espino, meanwhile, has still yet to fight. He beat Justin Frazier at The Ultimate Fighter 28 Finale in November of 2018 and has been out of action since. There has been no news on when he will fight, and no details on whether he was hurt or on what was keeping him out of the Octagon.

Old school MMA fans will remember Alex Schoenauer from season one of The Ultimate Fighter. He lost to eventual winner Forrest Griffin on the show, and then Mike Swick at the finals, and has since become a successful stuntman in Hollywood. Unfortunately, a recent audition nearly took his life.
TUF 1 veteran Lodune Sincaid dead at 45 years old

Lodune Sincaid, a veteran of the first-ever season of The Ultimate Fighter, has passed away at 45 years old. Sherdog was the first to report this unfortunate news. The fighter’s website, LoduneMMA.com, has since issued a statement confirming this tragedy.
Dana White confirms "The Ultimate Fighter will continue" on ESPN — with some key changes

As the UFC closes in on its new broadcast deal with ESPN, and new programs like Dana White’s Tuesday Night Contender Series continue to gain popularity, the future of the UFC’s long-running reality show is uncertain. This, straight from the mouth of UFC President Dana White. “We don’t know yet,” White told MMAJunkie over the weekend (transcribed by Jed Meshew for MMA Fighting). “We’re coming up on the latest season of The Ultimate Fighter. We don’t know. It might be the last one. 13 years, The Ultimate Fighter has gone. It’s incredible.”

Last night, during the broadcast of the UFC’s latest trip to Mexico City, Mexico, the UFC announced the cast for the upcoming season of The Ultimate Fighter (season 26). Like the Ultimate Fighter season 20, which saw contenders battle to become the first-ever women’s strawweight champ, this season will see competitors vie for the inaugural UFC women’s flyweight title. The list of competitors for this latest season of the Ultimate Fighter includes several names that many fans will be familiar with, such as Barb Honchak, Roxanne Modafferi, and Lauren Murphy.

If you watched the first season of The Ultimate Fighter: Brazil, which was coached by Vitor Belfort and Wanderlei Silva and aired back in the year 2012, you may remember the name Alexandre “Sangue” Ramos. The featherweight contestant did not make it into the Ultimate Fighter house, but he did compete in the tournament’s opening round, where he was eliminated by Hugo Viana, succumbing a first-round TKO. Since this first episode of The Ultimate Fighter Brazil, we haven’t heard much from Ramos. Earlier this month, however, that changed. According a report from Brazil’s Combate, The Ultimate Fighter veteran was recently arrested after attempting to smuggle roughly two kilograms – 4.4 pounds – of cocaine into the country of Portugal.

In an effort to once again switch things up once again, it appears as though the UFC will be making the next season of The Ultimate Fighter an all-star season, rather than bringing in a new group of contestants to compete on the show. MMAJunkie broke the news, revealing that the promotion is targeting an ‘all-star- welterweight lineup for the 25th season. The past season of the show was certainly a different one, and in the eyes of many, was the change fans were hoping for. In this past season the promotion brought in flyweight champions from various other MMA promotions, with the winner getting a fight with UFC flyweight kingpin Demetrious Johnson. Ultimately, UFC vet Tim Elliot earned his way back into the promotion as he won the season.
