Fighters react to tonight’s war between Thiago Santos and Eryk Anders

A light heavyweight fight between usual middleweight competitors Thiago Santos and Eryk Anders served as the headliner of tonight’s UFC Fight Night 137 event in Sao Paulo.

The fight proved to be an absolute war as both men were able to land some heavy shots and significant strikes.

Eryk Anders attempted to utilize his wrestling to control the dangerous striking of his Brazilian opponent. However, every time Anders got Thiago down to the canvas, Santos was eventually able to scramble back to his feet without much issue.

When Thiago would was on his feet, he was able to land some heavy kicks to the legs and body of Anders.

Late in round three Anders was working for a single leg takedown attempt which allowed Thiago Santos to get off a plethora of uppercuts and short elbows.

Those strikes clearly paid dividends for Santos, as Eryk Anders collapsed in his attempt to get back to his corner following the conclusion of round three.

After seeing Anders’ condition, the referee quickly called off the contest.
