Tito Ortiz cited for battery in Las Vegas
News surfaced late Friday evening that former UFC champion Tito Ortiz had been cited for misdemeanor battery outside of a Las Vegas nightclub.
The situation in question was with a woman over a cell phone which lead to Ortiz allegedly getting physical in an attempt to take the phone. When police arrived at The Cromwell hotel, Ortiz was not placed under arrest and was issued a citation.
The citation was confirmed with ESPN, who is reporting that the infraction can carry a maximum penalty of 6 months in jail and/or a $1,000 fine.
Ortiz currently is signed with Bellator MMA and is looking for a warm up fight after neck surgery before potentially challenging Fedor Emelianenko.
