TJ Dillashaw is suspended by USADA until January of 2021 after testing positive for the banned substance EPO. He was flagged following his TKO loss to Henry Cejudo at UFC Brooklyn earlier this year. During the suspension, he has undergone shoulder surgery on both shoulders and has been healing nagging injuries he has been dealing with. The former UFC bantamweight champion also has started a new business, so the time off has been productive.

At the time of these discussions, Johnson expressed some doubt that TJ Dillashaw would be able to make the 125-pound limit for their potential flyweight title fight. Dillashaw later made 125 pounds for a January title fight with Henry Cejudo, but subsequently tested positive for EPO, and named his tough weight cut as one of the reasons he turned to this substance.

There he was taking on the UFC’s reigning flyweight champion in Henry Cejudo. However, for Dillashaw, the night did not go his way. The bantamweight champion was knocked out in just 32 seconds. Then, weeks after the fight it was announced he was flagged by USADA and suspended for two years for EPO use.

Things are continuing to go downhill for TJ Dillashaw, as Monster Energy have terminated their sponsorship deal with the former UFC bantamweight champion. Ariel Helwani revealed on Twitter that the promotional deal signed in Dec 2018 has ended. Monster Energy has parted ways with TJ Dillashaw, according to Monster's Hans Molenkamp. That being said, he says that he hand his teammates at Treigning Lab are attempting to forgive the former bantamweight champion. “I kind of found out like everybody else.
