As for the injured Tony Ferguson, Dana White recently revealed to ESPN’s Brett Okamoto that his interim lightweight title will now “go away”.
Whether or not Tony Ferguson has received that memo is questionable as “El Cucuy” issued the following emotional statement on social media where he expressed his desire “heal up and defend his title ASAP”.

According to a multiple reports, Tony Ferguson’s injury was caused by a “freak accident”.
I'm told the injury to Tony Ferguson was literally caused by a trip. The freak accident of all freak accidents. He was walking, saw someone he wasn't expecting to see, veered sharply to say hello and tripped.
