VIDEO | Tony Ferguson is now training in dress pants… and a blindfold
Tony Ferguson’s training habits have always been… interesting… Ahead of his UFC 223 headlining bout with undefeated contender Khabib Nurmagomedov, which will crown the UFC’s new lightweight champion, Ferguson’s training habits have reached new levels of unconventional.
Just days after he shared video of himself conditioning his shins by kicking a steel pipe, Ferguson has shared footage of himself working the speed bag in dress pants and dress shoes.

“[It] Doesn’t Matter What Kind Of Clothes You Wear… As Long As You Take Care Of Business,” Ferguson said of his choice to train in this classy attire. “My Nickname From TUF [was] ‘GQ Killa'”
Of course, that’s not where Ferguson’s latest bout of unconventional training methods ended. In a followup video, he once again went to town on the speed bag – this time, wearing a blindfold.

“Am I Doing it Right?” Ferguson said in the caption for this blindfolded video.
While it is immediately difficult to say how training in dress pants or training in a blindfold will help Ferguson prepare for Khabib Nurmagomedov, who is perhaps the most fearsome grappler to ever enter the Octagon, we all learned to stop questioning his methods long ago. Unconventional as they may be, Ferguson’s tireless efforts in the gym have helped him construct one of the most impressive active streaks in the UFC: a whopping 10-straight.
Highlights of Ferguson’s incredible win-streak include triumphs over names like Danny Castillo, Abel Trujillo, Gleison Tibau, Josh Thomson, Edson Barboza, Lando Vannata, Rafael dos Anjos, and most recently, Kevin Lee. This latter victory earned him the UFC interim lightweight title. The TUF 13 winner is a solid 23-3 overall.
