Rafael Dos Anjos vs Kamaru Usman official for TUF 28 Finale headliner
It has been rumored since June that an important welterweight clash was in the works. Well, that fight has now been made official.
The fight in question was a matchup between elite contenders in the former UFC lightweight champion Rafael Dos Anjos (28-10) and the surging contender Kamaru Usman (13-1). The UFC made the fight official today for The Ultimate Fighter 28 Finale’s headliner on November 30.

Each fighter has had their recent history with UFC interim champion Colby Covington. In fact, Covington defeated Dos Anjos in his last time out to earn said title.
For Usman, his last fight came in his first UFC main event at UFC Chile when he defeated the perennial top 5er in Demian Maia over the course of five rounds to a unanimous decision. The win extended Usman’s current streak to 12 straight.
Prior to RDA’s bout with Covington, he had been flawless at his new home of 170-pounds as he won three in a row over the likes of Neil Magny, former Strikeforce champion Tarec Saffiedine and former UFC champion Robbie Lawler. A big win over Usman would keep him right in the mix and give him a chance to regain some momentum heading towards another title shot.
Whereas a win for Usman could very well lead right to a shot at gold. Especially considering he and Covington remain as the two clearest challengers left for current champion Tyron Woodley.
