Former UFC welterweight champion Tyron Woodley is inching closer to his return. ‘The Chosen One’ has been out of action since his rematch with Jake Paul last December. In that first bout in August, the YouTuber scored a controversial split-decision victory. However, in the second outing, Paul scored a vicious sixth-round knockout.

The two first met at UFC on Fox 17 in December 2015, with Usman winning by decision. Now, seven years later, they’re set to run it back.

Former UFC welterweight champion Tyron Woodley is targeting a return to boxing. ‘The Chosen One’ departed from the UFC in March 2021, following a loss to Vicente Luque. The defeat was the fourth in a row for the former welterweight champion. Woodley had previously lost to Colby Covington, Gilbert Burns, and Kamaru Usman.

Tyron Woodley is saying he would accept a fight with Israel Adesanya if it was offered to him by Dana White and the UFC. Woodley (19-7 MMA), after a four fight losing streak against Vicente Luque (21-8 MMA), Colby Covington (17-3 MMA), Gilbert Burns (20-5 MMA) and Kamaru Usman (20-1 MMA) was released from the UFC in 2021 as his contract was up. It was to be the end of an eight-year relationship with the UFC that began back in 2013.

The UFC often signs young, up-and-coming prospects but the problem with them fighting in the UFC so young is the fact they are fighting the best in the world, which is a problem according to Woodley. Along with that, the promotion has to carefully matchmake them which they didn’t do to both Northcutt and VanZant as both struggled and ultimately left the UFC.

Those punches reportedly broke one of Covington’s teeth and left an abrasion on his wrist. Along with that, Jorge Masvidal is now facing a felony arrest if Covington cooperates with the police, and their investigation proves Colby’s claims.

According to The Sun, multiple sources informed them that the Florida State Athletic Commission did indeed take urine samples on fight night from both Paul and Woodley. Both tests also produced negative results for all prohibited substances.

Last Saturday night in the main event of a Showtime boxing pay-per-view, Woodley and Paul were having their rematch after Paul won a split decision in August. The rematch started out slow and through five rounds there wasn’t a ton of action.
