Jake Paul and Tyron Woodley may box twice. According to Malki Kawa, Woodley’s manager, Paul, the brash YouTuber turned boxer negotiated an automatic rematch clause for their fight. Of course, Paul and Woodley will headline a Showtime boxing card on August 28. It’s a stiff test for the 3-0 pro boxer and if he loses, he has the right to trigger an immediate rematch.

Tyron Woodley will be making millions of dollars to box Jake Paul, his manager Malki Kawa, revealed. After it was made official that Woodley would box Paul, the former UFC champion claimed it would be the biggest purse of his career. According to Kawa, Woodley did better than Ben Askren due to the fact he’s getting a cut of the pay-per-view which Askren did not. With that, he says Woodley will make millions of dollars.

UFC president Dana White reacted to the Jake Paul boxing match, saying that “Tyron Woodley doesn’t look like the Tyron Woodley of the past.” It was officially announced this week that Paul will take on Woodley on August 28 in a professional boxing match on Showtime PPV. Paul has looked good in his first three boxing matches, winning all of them including a knockout win over Ben Askren in his last outing. Following that fight, there were rumors that he could take on Woodley next, Askren’s longtime friend and training partner, and the fight was officially booked this week. It was made possible to make because Woodley’s contract with the UFC recently expired following a stoppage loss to Vicente Luque and the promotion decided not to sign him to a new deal.

UFC welterweight Tyron Woodley exchanged words with YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul and his team moments before the Ben Askren fight. Woodley was in the corner of Ben Askren, his longtime friend, and training partner before Paul fought him in Atlanta on Saturday night. Of course, the fight did not last very long as Paul managed to land a clean right hand that dropped Askren in the first round, leading to the ref stopping the fight. It was another easy win for Paul and now there are a number of fighters who are trying to step into the boxing ring with him his next time out, including Woodley himself. There have been several suggestions that “The Chosen One” could fight Paul next, especially if the UFC fully releases him from his contract as is expected.

The UFC rankings have changed following UFC 260, with Francis Ngannou entering the top-five P4P rankings and Tyron Woodley dropping down. Ngannou brutally finished Stipe Miocic in the main event of UFC 260 with punches in the second round to capture the UFC heavyweight title. Following the win, Ngannou jumped eight spots in the promotion’s pound-for-pound rankings. He’s all the way up at No. 5 in the world now after the victory, with Miocic slipping four spots in the rankings down to No. 7 overall. With Miocic moving down, both UFC featherweight champion Alex Volkanovski and UFC middleweight champion Israel Adesanya moved up one spot each. Despite Jan Blachowicz beating Adesanya at UFC 259, he is ranked four spots lower at No. 8.

UFC welterweight contender Vicente Luque called out Nate Diaz following his first-round submission win over Tyron Woodley at UFC 260. Luque picked up the biggest win of his UFC career to date when he submitted Woodley in the co-main event of UFC 260 with a D’arce choke. It was a wild fight for as long as it lasted, with Woodley landing a big punch early on that rocked Luque, only to see the Brazilian come back and hurt Woodley on the feet before taking him to the ground and finishing him by submission. It’s the kind of marquee win that Luque needs in order to fight the upper echelon of the UFC welterweight division as he continues to march towards the title. But before a title shot comes, Luque wants to take a money fight against Diaz first.

UFC president Dana White hinted that former UFC welterweight champion Tyron Woodley should retire following his fourth straight loss. Woodley was submitted by Vicente Luque in the co-main event of UFC 260, but it was a fun fight for as long as it lasted and won each man $50,000 each for “Fight of the Night.” After losing three straight fights to Kamaru Usman, Gilbert Burns, and Colby Covington, Woodley came into this fight with Luque with a huge chip on his shoulder, and it showed. As soon as the opening bell rang, Woodley immediately ran across the Octagon and tried to get physical with Luque. He even rocked the Brazilian, but he left himself exposed to counters and Luque was able to hurt him with strikes before getting him to the mat and tapping him.
