Tyron Woodley explains why he was not impressed by Rafael dos Anjos’ performance at UFC on FOX 26 in Winnipeg.
The former lightweight champion, Dos Anjos, put on a masterful performance against former welterweight champion Robbie Lawler in the main event of UFC on FOX 26 last night, earning a lopsided decision victory.
The victory marked RDA’s third straight win since moving up to the promotions welterweight division, as he had previously defeated perennial division contenders Tarec Saffiedine and Neil Magny.
Most fans and analysts were very impressed by Dos Anjos’ destruction of “Ruthless”. However, current UFC welterweight champion Tyron Woodley was not one of those people. “The Chosen One” shared his thoughts on RDA’s performance during the FS1 post fight show.
“In my opinion what I saw tonight, if any of those two guys in that bout would fight me, one of those guys is going to get knocked out,” Woodley stated. “I saw the IQ wasn’t as high as I would’ve liked for a guy in a number one contendership fight. Both of those guys talked about pushing the pace and they were going to do this and they were going to do that. I saw a ton of openings for myself in both of those fights.”
Woodley continued:
“Obviously, I don’t want to steal the shine. RDA had a great moment, he went out there and did his job. Robbie Lawler’s a very dangerous opponent and he’s knocked out so many different people but just being honest and keeping it on hundred percent. I’m the champion for a reason.”
