Tyson Nam was definitely behind on the scorecards before landing the devastating head kick which silenced Bagautinov’s hometown crowd in Moscow, Russia.
Had Ali lasted just one second longer, he would have won the fight via unanimous decision.
The fight served as Bagautinov’s first since being released by the UFC. The Russian fighter went 4-3 under the Zuffa banner which included a title fight loss to Demetrious Johnson.
Meanwhile, Tyson Nam improved to 3-0-1 over his last four outings with the shocking upset win.
The victory marked the second time in Nam’s career that he had scored a massive upset.
In August of 2012, Tyson Nam shocked the mixed martial arts world by knocking out Bellator bantamweight champion Eduardo Dantas with just one punch at Shooto Brazil 33 in Rio de Janeiro.
