By Tom Taylor - May 8, 2017

On June 3, the UFC will return to Rio de Janeiro, Brazil with an interesting looking night of fights in UFC 212.

Jose Aldo fights at UFC 212

The card will be headlined by a featherweight title unification bout. In one corner, we’ll have Jose Aldo, who was crowned undisputed champ when Conor McGregor was stripped of the title in late 2016. In the other, we’ll have interim champion Max Holloway, who won the honor with a December TKO of former lightweight champion Anthony Pettis.

UFC 212’s co-main event, meanwhile, will see recent strawweight title challengers Claudia Gadelha and Karolina Kowalkiewicz go at it in a possible number one contender fight.

In advance of this anticipated card, the UFC has now released an official poster for the event – and it’s a bit of a strange one. See the official UFC 212 poster, which remains partially upside down no matter how you turn it, below:

Aldo will enter the UFC 212 main event having most recently defeated long-time contender Frankie Edgar by unanimous decision. Holloway, meanwhile, extended his win-streak to a whopping ten-straight with his defeat of Pettis. Highlights of this streak include victories over names like Pettis, Ricardo Lamas, Jeremy Stephens, Charles Oliveira, Cub Swanson, Cole Miller, Akira Corassani, and Andre Fili.

Gadelha will enter the UFC 212 co-main event having rebounded from her recent loss to champ Joanna Jedrzejczyk with a lopsided defeat of Courtney Casey. Kowalkiewicz, meanwhile, was last seen in the cage in November, when she gave up her own decision to Jedrzejczyk.

Other features of the UFC 212 bill include a middleweight bout between Nate Marquardt and Vitor Belfort – which will mark Belfort’s retirement fight – and the UFC debut of former World Series of Fighting bantamweight champion Marlon Moraes. Moraes will be taking on fellow Brazilian Raphael Assuncao in his debut.
