UFC 218 Reebok Athlete Outfitting Payouts: Eddie Alvarez pockets just $5,000

The UFC 218 Reebok Athlete Outfitting Payouts are in!

The octagon returned to Detroit last night for UFC 218. The pay-per-view event was headlined by a featherweight title fight rematch between current champ Max Holloway and former division kingpin Jose Aldo.

After a back and forth opening two rounds, Holloway was able to take control of the fight in round three and eventually put Aldo away with an impressive TKO.

Holloway took home $40,000 in Reebok Athlete Outfitting pay for his efforts, while Aldo pocketed the events second highest payout with $30,000.

In the co-main event of the evening, former title challenger Alistair Overeem took on surging division contender Francis Ngannou.

“The Predator” was able to make quick work of “The Reem”, earning a brutal knockout victory early in round one (watch that here).

Also featured on the card was a key lightweight scrap between TUF 26 coaches Eddie Alvarez and Justin Gaethje.

The highly anticipated fight lived up to the billing as Alvarez and Gaethje went to war for the better part of three rounds.

In the end, the former lightweight champion, Eddie Alvarez, was able to finish Gaethje late in round three after landing a devastating knee.

Amazingly, Gaethje and Alvarez only combined for $7,500 total in Reebok Athlete Outfitting pay. Justin took home $2,500 while Alvarez pocketed $5,000.
