Starting with UFC 222 this weekend, you’ll have a brand new way to buy UFC pay-per-views: through Amazon. The obvious perk here, of course, is that by going through Amazon, you won’t need a pre-existing cable or satellite provider to order the pay-per-view. According to John Ourand of sportsbusinessdaily.com, UFC pay-per-views will be available through Amazon Prime Video, though no Amazon Prime account will be required. That means a simple, flat rate of $64.99.

Cyborg last fought and defended her title on the year-end card of 2017 at UFC 219 when she defeated former UFC bantamweight champion, Holly Holm. This quick turn around wasn’t the plan, but Cyborg wasn’t going to turn down the UFC in their time of need as she explained to The Sports Journal:

It is official. UFC featherweight champion, Cris Cyborg will be making a relatively quick turn around after her last title defense in December to now defend against the Invicta FC bantamweight champion, Yana Kunitskaya. The fight will be Yana’s first in the UFC and her first at 145-pounds since 2012. The oddsmakers don’t see this one being close. Cyborg has opened as a 10-1 favorite on Bovado while Yana is the 6-1 underdog.

Late last week, we learned that UFC featherweight champion Max Holloway had been forced out of his UFC 222 main event title fight with Frankie “The Answer” Edgar. With this unfortunate development, the promotion began a frantic search for a replacement main event. According to Ariel Helwani of MMAFighting.com, one option is a bout between Edgar and fellow featherweight contender Brian Ortega. Apparently, however, this fight could be pushed down the lineup if the UFC is able to book another title fight for the card.

The unfortunate news broke over the weekend that the featherweight title fight between former lightweight champion, Frankie Edgar and featherweight champion, Max Holloway has fallen through once again. It was Holloway this time that was forced out with a leg injury. The fight was scheduled to headline UFC 222. Currently, the UFC is still looking to find a new headliner. Edgar is still wanting to stay on the card regardless of opponent and the UFC appears to be trying to set up a fight between him and Brian Ortega. Other options have included a rematch between bantamweight champion, TJ Dillashaw and Cody Garbrandt and very recently…Garbrandt vs Edgar.
