However, if he doesn’t, he believes it says a lot about ‘The Last Stylebender’. ‘The Killa Gorilla’ recently scored a knockout victory over Derek Brunson at UFC 271. Cannonier called for a title shot in his post-fight interview, and Dana White noted that he was going to give him a chance at gold next. Furthermore, Israel Adesanya, who also scored a win on the card, opined that Cannonier is likely next.

Last Saturday night at UFC 271, Israel Adesanya managed to defeat Robert Whittaker via unanimous decision to successfully retain his UFC middleweight title. “The Last Stylebender” faced far more adversity than he did in their first meeting back at UFC 243 but in the end, he just about did enough in the eyes of the judges to get the nod.

The highly anticipated middleweight title fight rematch proved to be a hard fought back and forth affair. Israel Adesanya seemingly got the better of Robert Whittaker in the opening ten minutes, even dropping ‘The Reaper’ with a right hand in the opening frame.
