UFC Atlantic City Live Results: Corey Anderson defeats Patrick Cummins

A light heavyweight bout between Corey Anderson and Patrick Cummins kicked off tonight’s UFC Fight Night 128 prelims in FS1.

Round one begins and Cummins immediately begins working to get inside on Anderson. He shoots in a presses Corey against the cage. Patrick is searching for a takedown. Anderson breaks free. Corey with a big right hand. That has Cummins hurt. Anderson is all over him with punches. Somehow Cummins remains standing. He’s returning fire with punches. Anderson catches him with a flying knee. Cummins continues to walk forward. Anderson with a big uppercut and then a right hand. Cummins circles out and then presses forward with a combination. Anderson drives forward and pushes Cummins against the fence. Corey with a double leg takedown. Patrick pops right back up to his feet. Anderson with a knee against the cage. The fighters break. Cummins presses forward with a combination. Anderson shoots in and scores a double leg takedown. Cummins gives up his back. Anderson peppers him with punches. Cummins works his way back up. He throws a back fist. Round one comes to an end.

Round two begins and Anderson throws a nice combination to start. Patrick circles along the outside. He lands a low kick. Corey leaps in with a flying knee attempt that just misses. The fighters clinch up and exchange punches. Anderson drops down for a double leg. Cummins is able to defend the shot. The fighters continue to battle in the clinch and then break. Anderson with a left hook. Cummins replies with a jab. Anderson with another good combination. He shoots in and scores a takedown. Corey immediately moves to the back of Cummins and unloads some big shots. Round two comes to an end.

Round three begins and Anderson is able to score an early takedown. He immediately begins to take the back of Cummins as he attempts to scramble. Patrick gets back to his feet but Anderson has him pressed against the cage. Anderson drags Cummins back to the canvas and promptly takes his back. Corey with some short shots from the top. Cummins attempts to scramble but cannot break free. Anderson locks in both hooks and begins searching for a rear-naked choke Cummins defends and scrambles back up to his feet. Anderson almost instantly takes Patrick back down. He begins unloading left hands with under one minute remaining. Cummins survives to hear the final horn.
