UFC Atlantic City Results: Tony Martin defeats Keita Nakamura

A welterweight fight between Tony Martin and Keita Nakamura kicked off tonight’s UFC Fight Night 128 event in Atlantic City.

Tony Martin was able to get the better of Keita Nakamura on the feet in round one. Martin tagged Nakamura with a right hand that sent Keita to the canvas for a brief moment in the opening five minutes of action.

Round two was more of the same for Martin, who stayed at distance while peppering Nakamura with punches from outside.

Nakamura began round three agressively but Martin was able to avoid any significant damage and locked in a kimura submission. Keita would escape the hold and the fighters would briefly grapple before choosing to break free and get back to trading punches. Martin would land a crisp left hook that sent Nakamura’s mouth piece flying to the octagon floor. The referee would step in to let Keita grab his equipment and the fight continued. Nakamura would continued to press forward but he was not throwing punches. Instead Martin would use some good footwork and a crisp jab to frustrate the veteran fighter. The fight would end on the ground with Martin once again searching for a kimura submission.
