Volkov (30-7 MMA) will be returning to action for the first time since UFC 229 in October of 2018, where he suffered a last second knockout loss to Derrick Lewis.

Former two-division champion Conor McGregor is obviously watching today’s UFC Moscow event, as he recently took to Twitter to slam Abubakar Nurmagomedov. Abubakar, who is the cousin of undefeated lightweight champ Khabib Nurmagomedov, suffered a first round submission loss to David Zawada on the preliminary card of today’s event in Moscow, Russia.

Zabit Magomedsharipov will square off with fellow featherweight contender in the main event of UFC Moscow. ‘ZaBeast’ will be returning to action for the first time since defeating Jeremy Stephens by unanimous decision at March’s UFC 235 event.

Calvin Kattar is travelling across the pond to fight on the home turf of his opponent, Zabit Magomedsharipov at UFC Moscow. The featherweights will be headlining the event this Saturday, November 9 inside the CSKA Arena in the Russian capital. Kattar was scheduled to fight his Russian opponent last month in his hometown at UFC Boston. However, the fight was pulled from the card as Magomedsharipov suffered from a blood infection. Now, Kattar is having to acclimatize to Russian conditions and overcome adversity in the form of Magomedsharipov’s loyal fan base.

In the co-main event of UFC Moscow, Greg Hardy is getting the big step up in competition many fans have been calling for. He is set to take on top-10 heavyweight, Alexander Volkov on short notice. Heading into this fight, Hardy is a +215 underdog while the Russian is a -275 favorite. Ahead of the fight, BJPENN.com reached out to several pro fighters to get their predictions for the scrap. The majority are happy that Hardy is taking a step up in competition but, they believe Volkov will get his hand raised.

The former NFL star will be going head to head with former Bellator heavyweight champion Alexander Volkov, which serves as a huge step up in competition.

Former UFC heavyweight champion Junior dos Santos was expected to battle Russia’s Alexander Volkov in the main event of the upcoming UFC Moscow card, scheduled for Nov 9. According to ESPN, however, a bout of cellulitis has forced dos Santos out of this contest, leaving the UFC to search frantically for a replacement opponent for Volkov. The good news is that the UFC already has one option in terms of a new opponent for the Russian: Francis Ngannou. Ngannou threw his name in the hat on Twitter shortly after news of dos Santos’ withdrawal from the card surfaced.

Mark Hunt was last seen in action at February’s UFC 221 event in Perth, Australia where he suffered a unanimous decision loss to streaking division contender Curtis Blaydes.

Prior to the setback, Alves had defeated Patrick Cote via decision at UFC 210 in Buffalo.
