UFC Orlando Results: Angela Hill defeats Maryna Moroz

A women’s strawweight tilt between Angela Hill and Maryna Moroz took place during tonight’s UFC on FOX 28 prelims in Orlando, Florida.

Round one begins and Hill takes the center of the octagon quickly. Moroz keeps her at bay with a front kick. Moroz with a nice jab. She misses with a high kick. Angela presses forward and lands a nice combination. She follows that up with a low kick. Moroz fires back with a kick to the body. Hill counters with a right hand over the top. Moroz circles against the cage and then fires off a jab. Hill attempts a high kick but gets countered with an uppercut from Moroz. Maryna with a left hand now. Angela replies with a low kick and then presses Moroz against the cage. Maryna quickly breaks free and then Hill fires off another low kick. Angela with a kick to the body. Maryna replies with one of her own. Hill with a good right hand over the top. She pushes Maryna against the cage. Moroz with a left hand and then circles off the fence. Hill with another nice combination that ends in a right hand over the top. She grabs a hold of Moroz and begins working for a single leg takedown. Moroz isn’t having that and breaks free. Round one comes to an end.

Round two begins and Hill once again starts off quickly. She throws a jab and then lands a chopping low kick. Moroz circles out by Hill keeps the pressure on and lands a kick to the body. Maryna responds with one of her own. Angela counters her with a right hand and then another. She has Maryna circling along the fence now. Maryna fires off combination in an attempt to keep Hill at bay. Angela just walks through it and presses her up against the cage. Hill with some good clinch work. She lands a knee and then an uppercut as they break. Three minutes remain. Moroz shoots in for a takedown but Hill is able to sweep her and winds up in top position. Hill working from full guard. She lands a hard elbow. Moroz is doing a good job of controlling Hill’s hands here. Moroz scrambles up to her feet but eats an uppercut for her efforts. Maryna with a nice front kick and then another. She is still moving very well. Hill has arguably slowed down now with just under a minute remaining in round two. Maryna presses Hill against the cage and works in a knee. Hill fires off a knee of her own. Moroz replies with a kick and round two comes to an end.

Round three begins and Moroz starts things off with a kick to the body. Both women exchange shots in the center of the octagon. Another good kick lands for Maryna. She is applying a lot of pressure here in round three. Moroz with a nice side kick. Hill counters with a good right hand over the top. The fighters clinch and Hill throws Maryna to the side. Moroz finds her balance and then lands a side kick. Hill with another right hand that finds a home. She follows that up with a nice left hook. Maryna with a kick to the body. Hill decides to clinch and works in a pair of knees. She presses Moroz against the fence but Maryna quickly breaks free. Moroz with a kick to the body. Angela with a left. The scrappy fighters stand in the center of the octagon and just begin exchanging leather. Hill with a nice left hook but Maryna replies with a stiff jab. Hill presses forward and forces the clinch. She lands a pair of knees followed by an elbow on the break. Moroz works a jab and then a low kick. Angela with a right hand and the horn sounds to end round three.
