Jarred Brooks breaks his silence after knocking himself out at UFC Utica
UFC flyweight Jarred Brooks was involved in one of the most bizarre knockouts in mixed martial arts history at last night’s UFC Fight Night 131 event in Utica, New York.
Brooks squared off with UFC newcomer and former Titan FC flyweight champion Jose Torres on the preliminary card of last night’s UFC Utica event.
Jarred Brooks, who is also known as “The Monkey God”, clearly got the better of Jose Torres in round one.
In round two Brooks was able to grab a hold of Torres, lift him up and then attempted to slam “Shorty” into the canvas.
Unfortunately for “The Monkey God”, Brooks absorbed most of the impact caused by the slam and was left clearly stunned. That allowed Torres to pounce with some ground and pound which forced the referee to step in and call a stop to the contest.

As you could expect, Jarred Brooks was not at all happy with the outcome of last night’s fight and thus delivered a bold message to Jose Torres shortly following the event.

“@ShortyTorres125 your lucky that I knocked myself out and you didn’t do shit to me that whole fight . Just seen your after fight interview well played but if we run that shit back I beat you 9 times out of 10 and the only time you do is me KOing my self!” – Jarred Brooks
With the win Torres improved his record to a perfect 8-0 as a professional, while Brooks falls to 13-2 after being finished for the first time in his career.
