Ben Askren reacts after Darren Till suffers knockout loss to Jorge Masvidal

By Chris Taylor - March 16, 2019

Undefeated UFC welterweight Ben Askren jumped on a plane to London with plans of arranging a future fight with event headliner Darren Till.

Ben Askren, Darren Till

The rivals did have a slight encounter the day of UFC London weigh-ins, but it appears that an actual fight inside of the octagon will have to wait.

The proposed Askren vs Till matchup was dependent on “The Gorilla” defeating Jorge Masvidal in tonight’s UFC London main event.

That of course didn’t happen, as “Gamebred” silenced the London crowd with a devastating second round knockout victory over Till (watch that here).

Following Till’s first career knockout loss in tonight’s headliner, Ben Askren delivered the following reaction on Twitter.

“Kind of sad about Till, that was gonna be a lot of fun.” – Ben Askren

“Funky” then proceeded to taunt Jorge Masvidal for going after Leon Edwards backstage, this to allegedly avoid a future fight with the former Bellator and ONE champion.

“Masvidal just started a fight backstage with Leon Edwards so he doesn’t have to fight me next.” – Ben Askren
