BREAKING | Luke Rockhold injured out of UFC 230 rematch with Chris Weidman

Believe it or not, UFC 230 has taken yet another hit as the rematch of former middleweight champions has now been canceled.

After several shufflings have already been made atop the UFC’s return to Madison Square Garden on November 3, yet another is now taking place as Luke Rockhold has suffered a leg injury that has forced him out of his co-main event bout with Chris Weidman.

Per sources, Luke Rockhold is out of his middleweight fight against Chris Weidman at UFC 230. UFC already working on shuffling things around. This is the co-main event currently.

Originally, the night’s co-main event was supposed to be a lightweight encounter between Dustin Poirier and Nate Diaz. That was until Poirier suffered a hip injury that forced him out of the bout.

For Rockhold, this was to be his first fight since his February loss to Yoel Romero at UFC 221 in Perth, Australia.

Weidman, on the other hand, has been out for quite a bit longer as his last fight came in July 2017 when he submitted future middleweight title challenger and The Ultimate Fighter season 17 winner Kelvin Gastelum.

It remains to be determined whether or not Weidman will remain on the card. The plan according to Ariel Helwani is for him to stay on the card. Possibly against Jacare Souza who is already set to take on David Branch that same night.
