Conor McGregor offers words of encouragement to Tony Ferguson
Conor McGregor is showing support for Tony Ferguson, this following a difficult week for the former UFC interim lightweight champion.
Ferguson was hit with a restraining order from his wife Cristina earlier this week, preventing “El Cucuy” from seeing her or his son.
Ferguson’s wife alleged that the UFC lightweight standout has been displaying troublesome behavior for some time now (see more on that here).
While the Tony Ferguson situation is still developing, former two-division UFC champion Conor McGregor obviously caught wind of the recent events.
The Irish superstar took to Twitter where he offered his support to Tony Ferguson.
“Tony Ferguson is the type of guy that when all the chips are down, can pick them right back up again and come back stronger than ever!” McGregor tweeted. “Came back from a debilitating injury in record time to give us one of the fights of the year! Let’s go Tony!!” – Conor McGregor
“Mystic Mac” has also found trouble outside of the octagon in recent days.
Conor McGregor was arrested in Miami on Monday for strong-armed robbery and criminal mischief, this after allegedly smashing an individuals cell phone.
Due to their respective issues outside of the octagon, there is currently no timeline for when we will see either Conor McGregor or Tony Ferguson return to the UFC.
