Daniel Cormier: Stipe Miocic would fare even worse against ‘better’ Cain Velasquez
Back in July, in the main event of UFC 226, Daniel Cormier claimed the UFC heavyweight title with a first-round knockout of dominant champion Stipe Miocic. Since then, Miocic has been adamant that his previous accomplishments should earn him an immediate rematch with Cormier.
Miocic continued on his mission to goad Cormier into a rematch on Twitter this week.

“I was available at MSG,” Miocic said in a Tweet directed at Cormier earlier this week. “I’m available now. When are we fighting? I will finish you.”
Cormier, of course, is currently chasing a lucrative heavyweight title showdown with former champ and WWE star Brock Lesnar. He reminded Miocic of this fact in his response.
Keep those fingers crossed that Lesnar doesn’t fight, because if we do fight you definitely wont like what’s coming ur way!!!!! I definitely wouldn’t wanna be you in either fight! I’d rather fight me! https://t.co/fImC3ul7z4

If Daniel Cormier gets his desired fight with Brock Lesnar, one of the best options for Stipe Miocic might be a fight with returning former champ Cain Velasquez.
When asked about this fight by a fan on Twitter, however, Cormier wasn’t sold. He claimed Velasquez is even better than he is, which implies he’d beat Miocic even more decisively than he did.
Don’t do that to Stipe! Look what I did to him and Cain is better ! https://t.co/5FDl4Ju7gb

“Don’t do that to Stipe,” Daniel Cormier said on Twitter. “Look what I did to him and Cain is better!”
While there has been little movement on a potential fight between Cormier and Lesnar of late, Lesnar’s manager Paul Heyman recently said there is nothing preventing the fight from happening.
“As long as Daniel Cormier has the balls to step into the Octagon and put his title up against Brock Lesnar, and the UFC comes up with the money for Brock Lesnar, I don’t see anything that would keep Brock Lesnar from taking the fight,” he told TMZ.
If Daniel Cormier and Brock Lesnar do fight, that would certainly seem to open the door to a fight between Cain Velasquez and Stipe Miocic.
Who do you think would win?
