The UFC has added another interesting fight to the UFC 240 preliminary card. As reported by the Brazilian website Combate, Gillian Robertson will return to her home country of Canada to face Sarah Frota in the flyweight division. UFC 240 will be taking place on July 27th at Rogers Place in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada.

Looking to build some momentum in the flyweight division, Gillian Robertson will try to give a harsh welcome to the Brazilian fighter with the mission to add her third win in her last four fights.

“The Savage” has looked impressive in her last fight, when she tapped Veronica Macedo in the third round at UFC on ESPN+ 3. With a 9-3 record, the American Top Team athlete will surely look to impress the fans one more time, while she looks for a opportunity to grab a spot in the rankings.

Meanwhile, Sarah Frota will look to pick up her first win inside the Octagon. Of course her debut wasn’t the easiest as she had the mission to face Livia Renata Souza at UFC on ESPN+ 2. She failed to make the strawweight division’s 116-pound limit and lost to Souza by split decision, so she’s moving up to the flyweight division to have a fresh new start.

The Astra Fight Team product will try to shake up things and rescue the good impression that she left on Contender Series Brazil last year, when she earned a UFC contract with a good performance over Maiara Amanajas via first round KO. Sarah “Treta” (which means trouble in English) holds a pro record of nine wins and one loss, with 5 submissions.

The current UFC 240 lineup can be seen below:

  • UFC Featherweight Title – 145lbs: Max Holloway (c) vs. Frankie Edgar
Featherweight – 145lbs: Brian Ortega vs. Zabit Magomedsharipov
Welterweight – 170lbs: Kyle Stewart vs. Erik Koch
Flyweight – 125lbs: Gillian Robertson vs. Sarah Frota

What do you think of this Gillian Robertson vs. Sarah Frota matchup? Who do you think wins?
