Jairzinho Rozenstruik explains why he isn’t calling anyone out following TKO win over Shamil Gaziev: “Who’s available? Let’s get in”
Jairzinho Rozenstruik is now fresh off a TKO finish over Shamil Gaziev, and while he won’t be calling anyone out, he wasn’t afraid to namedrop some recognizable fighters.
Rozenstruik vs. Gaziev headlined a UFC Fight Night event in Las Vegas this past Saturday. It was “Bigi Boy” who earned the win before round five could begin. It was a much-needed victory for Rozenstruik, who was 2-3 in his last five outings before meeting Gaziev.
Now, Rozenstruik can look forward to what’s next, but he’ll do so humbly.

Speaking to reporters following the fight, Rozenstruik explained why he isn’t calling anyone out after his recent victory (h/t MMAJunkie).
“When I’d like to fight next would be close to July or August,” Rozenstruik said. “Who I want to fight? You know what it is. I never say a name because then when that person doesn’t have time to fight, then you’re stuck out of the game. That’s why I never called someone out. There’s a couple of names I didn’t face yet. For example, Tai Tuivasa, Derrick (Lewis), Serghei Spivac, and someone else, Tom Aspinall. Name it. But I never call someone out because I don’t want to wait on their time. I want to be in shape, come back. Who’s available? Let’s get in.”
It’ll be interesting to see who answers the call when Rozenstruik is ready for his second fight of 2024. Rozenstruik was matched with an unknown and previously unbeaten heavyweight in Gaziev, so one has to wonder if the UFC will throw another undefeated prospect at Rozenstruik, or if he will get a familiar face in the UFC rankings. For now, Rozenstruik can rest easy knowing that he is back in the win column.
