Jon Jones responds to Matt Hamill’s rematch suggestion
Earlier this week, news surfaced that UFC President Dana White is working with the Nevada State Athletic Commission (NSAC) to potentially overturn the lone loss on the record of Jon Jones: a 2009 disqualification against Matt Hamill.
This controversial loss occurred when Jones unloaded a series of illegal, 12-6 elbows on Hamill, and White — along with UFC commentator Joe Rogan — feels like it should have been ruled a win for the future champ.
Matt Hamill isn’t so sure about that, and recently offered a solution on his Twitter account. He reminded the world that he’s on a two-fight win-streak, and offered Jon Jones a rematch. He also snuck in a PED-related diss.
@joerogan @danawhite @JonnyBones to supports overturning Jon Jones DQ loss to me to a no contest? Well I'm not complaining about jones in the past what he used illegal substance when he fought me.12/6 elbow is illegal. Back to back wins. How about rematch?

Mat Hamill then made a followup post on his Instagram account, once again challenging Jon Jones to a rematch.

“Rematch? Lets make it happen,” he wrote in the caption. “Hope he’s clean this time.”
It was on this Instagram post that Jon Jones finally issued a response.
“Damn Matt, the disrespect,” Jones wrote in the comments on Hamill’s post. “Thought you were smarter than this. Honestly I’ve never said a bad thing about you.”
Jon Jones then followed up with a post of his own, confirming that he is not interested in a rematch.

“Let’s set the record straight, definitely not looking for a rematch,” he wrote.
“Honestly, I was just blindsided,” he added in the comments. “He’s a fellow upstate New York guy. Over these years I’ve always given him mad love. Funny how people are. I’m not even mad at him though, I understand it’s his claim to fame. Just wish he would have went about this a different way. It’s whatever.”
