Justin Willis reacts to loss to Curtis Blaydes
Justin Willis had plenty to say about Curtis Blaydes before their UFC Nashville co-main event battle, but ultimately failed to back up his talk as he was soundly outwrestled by his foe en route to a unanimous decision loss.
Speaking on Instagram post-fight, Willis seem to bury the hatchet with Blaydes, congratulating his rival on a solid victory and assuring they will meet again in the near future.
“Learn, Grow, Conquer. I will be back greater! Great fight @razorblaydes265. Thanks for showing your true colors and we shall undoubtedly see eachother again in no time, enjoy. Until then I will get back to work immediately. The rest of the division is in trouble and to all my haters enjoy it while it last. God bless 🙏🏾” – Justin Willis on Instagram.
This setback to Blaydes marks the first time Justin Willis has experienced defeat in the Octagon. Since joining the UFC in 2017, the former World Series of Fighting contender has beaten James Mulheron, Allen Crowder, Chase Sherman, and most recently, Mark Hunt. He’s now 8-2 overall.
Curtis Blaydes, meanwhile, has now rebounded from a tough, knockout loss to Francis Ngannou. Prior to that loss, Blaydes was on a five-fight streak, highlighted by lopsided defeats of Alexey Oleynik, Mark Hunt and Alistair Overeem. He’s now 11-2 in sum.
What do you think the future holds for Justin Willis and Curtis Blaydes after UFC Nashville?
