Kelvin Gastelum and Ben Askren continue war of words on social media

Last night, top UFC middleweight contender Kelvin Gastelum took a shot at UFC welterweight champ Tyron Woodley for plotting a move up to the middleweight division.

“Haha [Tyron Woodley] has never wanted this smoke after we fought the 1st time! He can’t compete at MW,” Gastelum wrote on Twitter, referencing his close 2015 fight with Tyron Woodley.

This comment from Gastelum promptly generated a response from former ONE and Bellator champ Ben Askren, who reminded that Gastelum badly missed weight for his fight with Woodley.

“Hey fat boy he beat you with a broken foot and you didn’t come within 10lbs of making weight,” Askren chided. “I love me some trash talk, but you should get real.”

From there, the war of words continued, as Kelvin Gastelum claimed he didn’t know who Askren was.

“I’m sorry I don’t know know who you are young man!” he said.

Askren then unleashed a pretty savage response, hitting Gastelum with a multi-point Tweet.

Here’s what Ben Askren said:

Evidently growing tired of this beef, Kelvin Gastelum then told Ben Askren to chill out.
