“Our daughter, Moa, is here! June 9th at 8:25pm! A little late, stubborn, American/Brazilian, beautiful, perfect, God’s gift and our family’s biggest pride! Delivery was smooth and I had the most important people by my side! Welcome here my baby girl! We love you so much!” – Mackenzie Dern on Instagram.
Dern has not fought since UFC 224 in May of 2018, when she submitted Amanda Bobby Cooper in the first round. Unfortunately, she missed weight for this bout — which has been an ongoing problem in her career, both as a mixed martial artist and a professional grappler.
Prior to her win over Cooper, Mackenzie Dern picked up a hard-fought split decision victory Ashley Yoder in her UFC debut. Her MMA career began in the Legacy FC and Invicta cages.
Now 7-0 overall, it’s not clear when Dern will return to the cage. Speaking on her Instagram story recently, she suggested she was interested in a fall return, but this seems somewhat unlikely.
