At UFC Brooklyn, UFC flyweight champion Henry Cejudo defeated UFC bantamweight champion via first-round TKO. Unfortunately for him, some members of the MMA community — particularly Dillashaw — feel the stoppage was early. Previously, Henry Cejudo stated that he’d be interested in giving TJ Dillashaw an immediate rematch, however likely only at 135 pounds, for Dillashaw’s bantamweight title.

When we open up the MMA history books and look at who the longest reigning champions in each UFC division are, at the very top you would see the name ‘Stipe Miocic’. Miocic, the former champion of the heavyweights, last fought in July 2018 when he took on the light heavyweight champ Daniel Cormier in a super fight of epic proportions.

Last year, UFC welterweight champ Tyron Woodley started a second career as a rapper, releasing a song with Wiz Khalifa called I’ll Beat Yo Ass. Now, the champ has featured in another song alongside rapper 4K. See the music video for this song, called Blow, below.

Junior dos Santos is looking to reclaim the heavyweight belt, and on March 9 he can start that process. Dos Santos will be taking on Derrick Lewis at UFC Wichita. It’ll be Lewis’ first bout since he came up short in a title fight with reigning champ Daniel Cormier at UFC 230. Given that Lewis just contended for the title, dos Santos is looking at this fight as a number-one contender bout.

Ever since moving up to lightweight in 2015, Dustin Poirier has been unstoppable. He is 8-1 with one no-contest, with the majority of his wins coming by way of stoppage and in main event spots. However, while his resume looks impressive, Poirier has still yet to fight for the UFC lightweight title. Instead, he has had to keep on fighting top contenders, until finally he said he’d only be accepting title fights or money fights henceforth.

Last Saturday night, in the co-main event of UFC Fortaleza, former UFC featherweight champ Jose Aldo stepped into the cage with a fellow Brazilian in Renato Moicano. Aldo looked every bit an MMA great in this fight, thumping Moicano to a second-round TKO victory. While this was the outcome he sought, however, he did not take great pleasure in defeating one of his countryman, and a fighter still on the come-up.

Over the last few weeks, former ONE and Bellator welterweight champ Ben Askren has exchanged a number of barbs with UFC 235 welterweight title challenger Kamaru Usman — who he refers to at ‘Marty.’ Late last week, Usman and Askren were in attendance at the UFC 235 press conference to promote their upcoming fights with Tyron Woodley and Robbie Lawler respectively, and they had plenty to say to each other on stage.

While the game was an undeniably slow one, fans all over the world made sure to watch— and that includes some of the biggest names in MMA. Former UFC lightweight and featherweight champion Conor McGregor, as a matter of fact, was actually in attendance for the Super Bowl, taking in the action with his young son Conor Jr.

Headlining the card was a battle of two top bantamweight contenders in Raphael Assuncao and Marlon Moraes. Ultimately, Moraes submitted Assuncao in the first round to become the clear cut number one contender in the bantamweight division.

Last night, in the main event of the stacked UFC Fortaleza card on ESPN+, former World Series of Fighting bantamweight king Marlon Moraes avenges his only UFC loss, defeating the always tough Raphael Assuncao by first-round submission. With this dominant victory, Marlon Moraes is now inarguably the top contender for TJ DIllashaw’s UFC bantamweight title. Yet having recently watched Dillashaw come up short in a flyweight title fight with Henry Cejudo — a fight he lost by first-round TKO — Moraes says he isn’t sure this fight is an opportunity Dillashaw deserves.

Last night, in the co-main event of UFC Fortaleza on ESPN+, former UFC featherweight champ and bona fide MMA legend Jose Aldo picked up another huge win, this time at the expense of Renato Moicano, who he dispatched with a volley of second-round punches. This victory generated reactions from many MMA stars — including several of Aldo’s rivals in Conor McGregor, Brian Ortega, Alexander Volkanovski and reigning featherweight champ Max Holloway.

Ever since, Khabib Nurmagomedov and Dillon Danis have had plenty to say about each other on social media.

Last night, in the main event of UFC Fortaleza on ESPN+, top bantamweight contenders Marlon Moraes and Raphael Assuncao met for a second time. While Assuncao won their first fight with a hard fought split decision, Moraes came out on top in their second affair in a big way, winning by submission via guillotine choke in the very first round.
