One of those reactions came from Nurmagomedov’s manager who has been right in the thick of the whole rivalry, Ali Abdelaziz. And he didn’t hold back.

A featherweight matchup between Ricardo Lamas (18-7) and Darren Elkins (24-6) has been added as the co-main event of UFC Argentina on November 17. UFC officials confirmed the news on Tuesday. Lamas is coming off back-to-back losses for the first time in his career after having fought Josh Emmett and Mirsad Bektic. “The Bully” will be looking for his first win since July 2017, where he finished Jason Knight first-round TKO at UFC 214.

At least, that’s the way the UFC is planning it.

Yet when the UFC needed a main event for UFC 230, which goes down on November 3 in New York, Cormier agreed to a short-notice heavyweight title fight with streaking contender Derrick Lewis While Derrick Lewis is now the first item on Daniel Cormier’s to-do list, the champ has remained adamant that there is still a Brock Lesnar fight in his future.

It was reported earlier this month that the surging top featherweight contender Renato “Moicano” Carneiro (13-1-1) was to face Chad Mendes for his next time out. That, however, appears to no longer be the case. Combate has now reported that the currently No. 4 ranked contender Moicano will now be facing off against a fellow rising contender, Bosnia’s Mirsad Bektic (13-1) at UFC 231 on December 8 in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. According to the report, Moicano says he expects to act as the alternate fighter if needed in the case of an injury to either man in the night’s featherweight title fight main event between the champion Max Holloway and the unbeaten challenger Brian Ortega.
