After Colby Covington beat Robbie Lawler, UFC president, Dana White said he would fight Kamaru Usman for the welterweight title next. But, where that has left his best friend and teammate, in Jorge Masvidal is unknown. “Gamebred” made it clear he would only fight for the title or Conor McGregor next, but White shut that down. Yet, Covington believes that actually makes sense for him to fight Usman and Masvidal to fight McGregor.

Fabricio Werdum is currently sidelined due to a USADA suspension but he has his eyes set on his return fight. During his suspension, he asked for his release, yet the UFC never obliged. Now, he is set to return in May of 2020 and when he does, he wants to fight Francis Ngannou.

Colby Covington has had plenty to say about “Platinum” Mike Perry and his wife Danielle over the years, and the pair recently returned fire from a swimming pool in Montevideo, Uruguay. In a video posted to Instagram, Perry and his wife “reenacted” Covington’s recent victory over Robbie Lawler, accusing the former interim champion of having “pool noodle punches.”

The official UFC rankings have been updated in the wake of Saturday’s UFC Newark card, and they feature some interesting changes — though perhaps not in the way you’d expect. While it was expected to see some movement at welterweight after Colby Covington thumped Robbie Lawler in the card’s main event, the most notable change occurred in the light heavyweight division, where former champion Daniel Cormier has inexplicably climbed back into the top spot under the reigning champ Jon Jones, surpassing Thiago Santos.

After years of discussion, UFC President Dana White will finally launch Zuffa Boxing this fall. At least, that’s his plan. Speaking on to the media on Tuesday, the UFC boss divulged that he hopes to shake up the boxing landscape by having the best fighters compete against each other — something that has historically been difficult to make happen with so many promotions battling for supremacy in the sport.

Former UFC middleweight champion Michael Bisping is putting on his matchmaker hat, and he wants to see a welterweight fight between Darren Till and Robbie Lawler. He discussed the appeal of this matchup on the latest episode of his  Believe You Me podcast, explaining that the timing simply makes sense after Robbie Lawler fell onto a three-fight skid with a loss to Colby Covington last weekend, and Darren Till looks to rebound from two straight stoppage losses.

Valentina Shevchenko is set for her second title defense when she takes on Liz Carmouche in the main event of UFC Uruguay. The lead up to the fight has been interesting given the two fought back in 2010, when Carmouche beat Shevchenko by TKO after the doctor stopped the fight. Carmouche says it was a legit stoppage, while the current champion Shevchenko says it was a lucky strike and the fight shouldn’t have been stopped.

Leon Edwards and Jorge Masvidal are two of the top contenders in the UFC welterweight division. As luck would have it, they also happen to be two of the most heated rivals in the division. As of yet, however, the pair have not yet had the opportunity to settle their differences in the cage.

Mike Perry is now just days away from a scrap with Vicente Luque, which co-headlines Saturday’s UFC Uruguay card on ESPN+. Ahead of this card, this Perry vs. Luque fight is viewed by many as a frontrunner for the evening’s Fight of the Night honors, due in large part to Perry’s history of unbridled aggression in the cage. Yet from the sounds of it, we may see a different version of Mike Perry than the one we’re used to.

At UFC 242, which goes down on September 7 in Abu Dhabi, Dustin Poirier will attempt to do what 27 other fighters have failed to do, and defeat UFC lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov. In preparation for this mammoth challenge against the undefeated Russian, Poirier is grinding away in the gym, preparing specifically for the frenetic pace Nurmagomedov is known to unleash in his fights.

In the main event of UFC Uruguay, flyweight champion Valentina Shevchenko will look to defend her title against Liz Carmouche. The champion is coming off of a knockout win over Jessica Eye at UFC 238, while the challenger is on a two-fight winning streak. The Kyrgyzstani champion is a -1200 favorite, while her American challenger is a +700 underdog.

Former UFC interim welterweight champion Colby Covington has received a radio-show ban following a verbal dispute with Miesha Tate. While a guest on the “MMA Tonight” show on Sirius XM, Covington went off on Tate after she questioned how he went about promoting his fight with MMA legend Robbie Lawler at UFC Newark.

Kamaru Usman’s first title defense is far from official. ‘The Nigerian Nightmare’ captured the UFC’s coveted welterweight strap this past March, defeating Tyron Woodley via unanimous decision. After Colby Covington beat Robbie Lawler in the main event of UFC Newark, UFC president, Dana White said “Chaos” was next for the title shot. Yet, that may not be the case anymore. According to Usman, Leon Edwards is a dark horse and could very well get the next title shot.

Frankie Edgar has decided that his next fight will be at bantamweight. The future UFC Hall of Famer, Edgar, used to be the promotions lightweight champion. Yet, he was severely undersized for that division and in 2013 dropped down to featherweight.

Colby Covington has doubled down on his reasoning for not registering to vote in 2016. It’s no secret that Covington is a staunch supporter of President Donald Trump. The UFC welterweight proudly wears MAGA hats and even took a trip to the oval office last year. Recently, it was revealed by Jeremy Botter that Covington actually didn’t vote for Trump in 2016 and has never registered to vote.

Tyron Woodley has his irons many fires, whether that’s fighting, working as an MMA analyst, or rapping in his new song: Money Love. The former welterweight champion released this hip hop song on Youtube yesterday. “The Chosen One” has recently been exploring his music career. Earlier this year, he featured on a track by the Glacier Boyz and dropped bars with Wiz Khalifa. He even released a parody of the popular hit ‘Old Town Road’, where he took aim at Conor McGregor and Colby Covington.

Frankie Edgar is making the move to the loaded 135-pound division. According to a report from ESPN, “The Answer” is making the drop to bantamweight following his most recent opportunity to capture a world championship at UFC 240. Edgar fought valiantly against the reigning champion Max Holloway, but ultimately would drop a unanimous decision.
