Tom Taylor - April 11, 2019
UFC middleweight contender Paulo Costa has been the subject of several doping rumors of late, thanks in large part to the recent comments of his would-be opponent Yoel Romero. While it now sounds like stomach medication could be the reason for Costa’s recent brushes with the United States Anti-Doping Agency (USADA), however, his recent opponent Uriah Hall feels there could actually be more at play here. https://youtu.be/kx8ITw1dBEI “I was supposed to fight that dude a while back,” Hall said on Bloody Elbow’s Pull No Punches podcast (transcript via MMA Mania). “He pulled a bicep muscle and I was like ‘What?’ Listen, s**t is going on under the radar here. Joe Rogan comments on TJ Dillashaw drug test failure
Tom Taylor - April 11, 2019
This week’s news that former UFC bantamweight champion TJ Dillashaw had tested positive for EPO, an “injectable only” performance-enhancing substance, sent a shockwave through the MMA community. UFC color commentator Joe Rogan is just as disappointed by this news as the rest of us. “To me, it’s a shame because I’m a TJ fan,” Rogan told his guest Herb Dean on Wednesday’s edition of the Joe Rogan Experience MMA Show (transcript via MMAjunkie) “I think he’s a phenomenal fighter and I’m a big fan of watching him perform. But it just taints his legacy. It just does. There’s no way around it. When you get caught cheating – this stuff, there’s no way it’s not cheating. This is just cheating. This isn’t any accident. It taints your legacy, and the guy had an amazing legacy: two-time bantamweight champion, one of the best pound-for-pound fighters.”

If there was ever a fighter who embodied the true definition of a martial artist, where the beauty is in the way the fighter fights, the way the fighter carries themselves, and the message they fight for, Michelle Waterson is that fighter.
