Daniel Cormier doesn’t believe he has to be chummy with Jon Jones despite their rivalry being long gone. Cormier and Jones had a nasty feud under the UFC banner. The two brawled during a UFC 178 media day sessions. Jones defeated Cormier via unanimous decision in their first meeting. Their second clash initially ended in a knockout win for Jones, but that result was changed to a No Contest due to a failed drug test on Jones’ end. “Bones” has long maintained his innocence when it comes to using banned substances.

UFC commentator Joe Rogan has had high praise for Ilia Topuria as he continues his reign as the featherweight king. At this point, it’s impossible to deny that Ilia Topuria is one of the best fighters in mixed martial arts. In his last two fights alone, he’s managed to knock out Alexander Volkanovski and Max Holloway. If that doesn’t prove what kind of fighter we’re dealing with, we’re not sure what would.

UFC welterweight champion Belal Muhammad has dismissed Shavkat Rakhmonov’s idea for an interim title fight at UFC 310. As we know, Belal Muhammad is the current king of the welterweight division. We also know that he was scheduled to defend the belt against Shavkat Rakhmonov in the main event of UFC 310. Now, however, Rakhmonov has been left without an opponent after Muhammad was forced to pull out due to injury.

For the longest time, Amir Albazi has been seen as a legitimate contender at flyweight. Heading into UFC Edmonton, the expectation was that he could give Brandon Moreno a real run for his money. Unfortunately for him, that isn’t quite how things played out.

Moreno’s championship experience was simply too much for Albazi. “The Assassin Baby” earned a unanimous decision win.

The Octagon returned to Alberta for tonight’s UFC Edmonton event, and four fighters ended up taking home performance bonuses. The fight card was headlined by a high stakes men’s flyweight bout featuring Brandon Moreno taking on Amir Albazi. The contest resulted in a dominant performance from the former flyweight kingpin Brandon Moreno. ‘The Assassin Baby’ was able to overwhelm Amir Albazi for the majority of the contest, battering ‘The Prince’ with jabs, left hooks and some well-timed kicks. By the end of round four, Albazi’s face was an absolute mess and that just continued to get worse as Moreno continued his onslaught in the fifth and final round. After twenty-five minutes of action there was no doubt that Moreno would get the nod.

In fact, many tipped him to do just that against Jhonata Diniz on Saturday night.

UFC Hall of Famer Daniel Cormier isn’t happy with welterweight fighter Rinat Fakhretdinov’s scathing criticism of his commentary following a controversial win at UFC 308. Fakhretdinov picked up a unanimous decision win over UFC debutee Carlos Leal at UFC 308 last weekend in Abu Dhabi. Despite many pundits and fans scoring the fight in Leal’s favor, all three judges went the other way, prompting the UFC commentators to label the decision as a robbery.

UFC lightweight contender Beneil Dariush is in a weird spot as he prepares for his return. The 35-year-old hasn’t been seen in the cage since last December. In the main event of UFC Austin, Beneil Dariush was handed a brutal first-round knockout defeat by Arman Tsarukyan. The defeat was the lightweight’s second in a row, previously being knocked out by Charles Oliveira in the summer.

Former UFC heavyweight champion Stipe Miocic is undecided on retirement ahead of his return. The 42-year-old heavyweight hasn’t been seen in the cage in over three years. Stipe Miocic last competed in the main event of UFC 260 in March 2021. That night saw the heavyweight champion lose by a brutal second-round knockout to Francis Ngannou. For a long time, it appeared that Miocic would never fight again.
