Jan Blachowicz (24-8 MMA) will be returning to the cage for the first time since destroying Luke Rockhold at July’s UFC 239 event in Las Vegas. The Polish star has gone 5-1 over his past six Octagon appearances, with his lone loss in that time coming to Thiago Santos by way of TKO.

An opportunity of a lifetime hung in the balance for Paul Craig in Saturday’s co-main event tilt with former UFC light heavyweight champion Mauricio “Shogun” Rua. The beautiful city of Sao Paulo served as the backdrop for UFC Fight Night 164, where a journeyman came face-to-face with a beloved MMA legend. Craig (12-4) was coming off a submission victory over Vinicius Moreira back in September at UFC Fight Night 159. Not only did the victory serve as a bounce-back performance after a jarring knockout loss to Alonzo Menifield, but it marked his fourth win under the UFC banner and brought his overall UFC record up to 4-4.

Shogun Rua (26-11 MMA) was most recently seen in action at December’s UFC Adelaide event, where he scored a third round TKO victory over Tyson Pedro. The Brazilian legend has gone 4-1 over his past five Octagon appearances.

Things didn’t go well for UFC veteran Ross Pearson in his return to MMA, as the former TUF winner was brutally knocked out with a ridiculous rolling thunder head kick by Davy Gallon at Probellum 1 in London. “The Real Deal” retired from MMA earlier this year after suffering a knockout loss to Desmond Green at UFC Fight Night: Barboza vs. Gaethje. He ended up taking a boxing match in Australia and won that fight by knockout. The victory in boxing convinced Pearson that he still had some gas left in the tank and he returned to the MMA cage in his native England.

Former UFC welterweight champion Tyron Woodley believes the UFC will make an offer to YouTuber Logan Paul and try to sign him to fight in the Octagon. Paul recently fought his rival KSI in a boxing match that was streamed live on DAZN, losing a controversial split decision after two points were taken from him for an illegal blow. After the fight KSI suggested that Paul move to MMA to take on CM Punk, and Paul told TMZ earlier this week that his goal now is to fight CM Punk in either the UFC or Bellator. The sportsbooks have even opened a betting line for a possible Paul vs. CM Punk matchup.
Rich Franklin would 'love' to fight Anderson Silva again

Rich Franklin retired from MMA following his knockout loss to Cung Lee in 2012. Yet, the now ONE Championship vice president says he still eyes one more fight, and that is a trilogy bout with Anderson Silva. Franklin and Silva fought at UFC 64 where Silva won by TKO to become the middleweight champion. The pair would collide again at UFC 77 where it was the same result. Although they are both now in their 40’s, Franklin being 45 and Silva being 44, the American believes the fight makes sense and knows it would be a different result.

The Brazilian will take on Scotland’s Paul Craig, who has stepped into replace the injured Sam Alvey. Shogun, now 37, is currently a solid 4-1 in his last five fights, with his lone loss coming against future title challenger Anthony Smith. Despite this recent success, he has confirmed to MMA Fighting that he intends to retire, and retire soon.
