Pros react to Alexander Volkov defeating Greg Hardy at UFC Moscow

A heavyweight bout between Greg Hardy and Alexander Volkov co-headlined today’s UFC Moscow event. Hardy (5-1 MMA) was making a quick turnaround for today’s contest. The former Dallas Cowboy was last seen in action at last month’s UFC Boston event where he fought Ben Sosoli for fifteen minutes. That bout was originally ruled a decision victory for ‘The Prince of War’, but was later overturned to a no-contest due to Hardy’s use of an inhaler between rounds.

Volkov (30-7 MMA) will be returning to action for the first time since UFC 229 in October of 2018, where he suffered a last second knockout loss to Derrick Lewis.

Former two-division champion Conor McGregor is obviously watching today’s UFC Moscow event, as he recently took to Twitter to slam Abubakar Nurmagomedov. Abubakar, who is the cousin of undefeated lightweight champ Khabib Nurmagomedov, suffered a first round submission loss to David Zawada on the preliminary card of today’s event in Moscow, Russia.

UFC lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov says that rival Conor McGregor needs to win 10 more fights before he gives him a rematch. Speaking with reporters during a press conference in Moscow Friday ahead of the UFC Fight Night event there this Saturday, Nurmagomedov revealed that he is planning on returning to the Octagon in April. He wants to fight in Las Vegas, but will only do so if the Nevada State Athletic Commission apologizes to him for what happened at UFC 229. Otherwise, he expects to fight in New York.

Calvin Kattar is travelling across the pond to fight on the home turf of his opponent, Zabit Magomedsharipov at UFC Moscow. The featherweights will be headlining the event this Saturday, November 9 inside the CSKA Arena in the Russian capital. Kattar was scheduled to fight his Russian opponent last month in his hometown at UFC Boston. However, the fight was pulled from the card as Magomedsharipov suffered from a blood infection. Now, Kattar is having to acclimatize to Russian conditions and overcome adversity in the form of Magomedsharipov’s loyal fan base.

Jones has seemingly agreed to the fight, but until he gets his bout agreement Reyes isn’t buying it.

Some accounts said he was booed, others said he was applauded, while others still reported a mix of boos and cheers. According to Rogan, however, the President was absolutely booed inside Madison Square Garden.
Police arrest suspect in Aniah Blanchard case

A suspect has been arrested in connection to the disappearance of Aniah Blanchard, the daughter of UFC heavyweight contender Walt Harris. According to WSFA, police in Florida arrested suspect Ibraheem Yazeed on Thursday night. Yazeed, a 30-year-old resident of Auburn, Alabama, is now being detained without bond in Florida on behalf of the Auburn Police Division.
