In a video posted to Instagram, Perry and his wife “reenacted” Covington’s recent victory over Robbie Lawler, accusing the former interim champion of having “pool noodle punches.”

Frankie Edgar announced this week that he will be dropping down to the bantamweight division for his next fight, and two rising stars have now called him out. Just two weeks after losing to Max Holloway in the main event of UFC 240, Edgar has realized he’s too small to compete with the elite featherweights and decided to make the move down in weight. It didn’t take long for him to get some takers.

The official UFC rankings have been updated in the wake of Saturday’s UFC Newark card, and they feature some interesting changes — though perhaps not in the way you’d expect. While it was expected to see some movement at welterweight after Colby Covington thumped Robbie Lawler in the card’s main event, the most notable change occurred in the light heavyweight division, where former champion Daniel Cormier has inexplicably climbed back into the top spot under the reigning champ Jon Jones, surpassing Thiago Santos.

After years of discussion, UFC President Dana White will finally launch Zuffa Boxing this fall. At least, that’s his plan. Speaking on to the media on Tuesday, the UFC boss divulged that he hopes to shake up the boxing landscape by having the best fighters compete against each other — something that has historically been difficult to make happen with so many promotions battling for supremacy in the sport.

Valentina Shevchenko is set for her second title defense when she takes on Liz Carmouche in the main event of UFC Uruguay. The lead up to the fight has been interesting given the two fought back in 2010, when Carmouche beat Shevchenko by TKO after the doctor stopped the fight. Carmouche says it was a legit stoppage, while the current champion Shevchenko says it was a lucky strike and the fight shouldn’t have been stopped.

Mike Perry is now just days away from a scrap with Vicente Luque, which co-headlines Saturday’s UFC Uruguay card on ESPN+. Ahead of this card, this Perry vs. Luque fight is viewed by many as a frontrunner for the evening’s Fight of the Night honors, due in large part to Perry’s history of unbridled aggression in the cage. Yet from the sounds of it, we may see a different version of Mike Perry than the one we’re used to.

Kamaru Usman’s first title defense is far from official. ‘The Nigerian Nightmare’ captured the UFC’s coveted welterweight strap this past March, defeating Tyron Woodley via unanimous decision. After Colby Covington beat Robbie Lawler in the main event of UFC Newark, UFC president, Dana White said “Chaos” was next for the title shot. Yet, that may not be the case anymore. According to Usman, Leon Edwards is a dark horse and could very well get the next title shot.

The UFC welterweight proudly wears MAGA hats and even took a trip to the oval office last year. Recently, it was revealed by Jeremy Botter that Covington actually didn’t vote for Trump in 2016 and has never registered to vote.

UFC welterweight contender Jorge Masvidal has recently been campaigning for a fight with former two-division champ Conor McGregor. In fact, he says the only fights he’s willing to accept at this juncture are a fight with McGregor or a welterweight title shot. Unfortunately for Masvidal, UFC President Dana White is not a fan of this matchup. The UFC boss also doesn’t think Masvidal is in a position to make ultimatums. He’ll reportedly be offered a fight imminently — but not with McGregor.
Tyron Woodley continues music career with new song

Tyron Woodley has his irons many fires, whether that’s fighting, working as an MMA analyst, or rapping in his new song: Money Love. The former welterweight champion released this hip hop song on Youtube yesterday. “The Chosen One” has recently been exploring his music career. Earlier this year, he featured on a track by the Glacier Boyz and dropped bars with Wiz Khalifa. He even released a parody of the popular hit ‘Old Town Road’, where he took aim at Conor McGregor and Colby Covington.

According to a report from ESPN, “The Answer” is making the drop to bantamweight following his most recent opportunity to capture a world championship at UFC 240. Un-redacted documents reveal UFC paid Lyoto Machida hefty bonuses for finishes

When Lyoto Machida still called the UFC home, the promotion made it very much worth his while to finish fights. Now un-redacted documents being used in the UFC Anti-Trust Lawsuit have revealed that Machida was given a hefty $100,000 bonus when he scored a knockout, TKO or submission win — seemingly in addition to any Performance of the Night bonuses he might have received. It’s not clear whether this arrangement lasted for the duration of his UFC career, or just for a portion of it.
Chris Weidman found latest Luke Rockhold KO 'bittersweet'
