Amanda Nunes, who now holds the UFC bantamweight and featherweight titles, is currently linked to a UFC 237 showdown with former bantamweight champ Holly Holm — though the fight is not official yet. If this fight does happen, it sounds as though it could be the last for Amanda Nunes.

Over the last few weeks, former ONE and Bellator welterweight champ Ben Askren has exchanged a number of barbs with UFC 235 welterweight title challenger Kamaru Usman — who he refers to at ‘Marty.’ Late last week, Usman and Askren were in attendance at the UFC 235 press conference to promote their upcoming fights with Tyron Woodley and Robbie Lawler respectively, and they had plenty to say to each other on stage.

Last night, the New England Patriots defeated the LA Rams 13-3 to win the 2019 Super Bowl. While the game was an undeniably slow one, fans all over the world made sure to watch— and that includes some of the biggest names in MMA. Former UFC lightweight and featherweight champion Conor McGregor, as a matter of fact, was actually in attendance for the Super Bowl, taking in the action with his young son Conor Jr.

It’s finally Super Bowl Sunday. All over the world, football fans are piling onto couches amid panoplies of snacks and drinks to enjoy the big game. With this dominant victory, Marlon Moraes is now inarguably the top contender for TJ DIllashaw’s UFC bantamweight title. Yet having recently watched Dillashaw come up short in a flyweight title fight with Henry Cejudo — a fight he lost by first-round TKO — Moraes says he isn’t sure this fight is an opportunity Dillashaw deserves.

Former UFC featherweight kingpin Jose Aldo scored a second-round TKO victory over Renato Moicano at tonight’s UFC Fortaleza event. Aldo was able to catch Moicano with a beautiful counter punch that had Renato in all sorts of trouble. From there, Jose Aldo would fire off some ruthless body shots which prompted the referee to step in and stop the fight.

Earlier this week, the Nevada State Athletic Commission (NSAC) convened to decide the fates of Khabib Nurmagomedov and Conor McGregor, who were involved in a hectic, post-fight brawl after their UFC 229 contest. Conor McGregor was handed a $50,000 fine and six month suspension. Khabib Nurmagomedov, meanwhile, was hit with a much heavier $500,000 fine and a nine-month suspension, though this suspension can be reduced to six months if completes an anti-bullying public service announcement.

Speaking at Thursday’s UFC Fortaleza media day, Jose Aldo harkened back to late 2018, when he was briefly linked to a lightweight fight with Donald “Cowboy” Cerrone. Aldo was excited about this fight, but now that Cerrone is chasing a fight with Conor McGregor, he no longer sees it as an option.

Until very recently, former UFC bantamweight champion Holly Holm was expected to fight Aspen Ladd at UFC 235 on March 2. Then, at last night’s UFC 235 press conference, UFC President Dana White casually dropped the news that Holm would not be competing on the card after all. In the wake of this news, many members of the MMA community guessed that Holly Holm could be reallocated to a title fight with Amanda Nunes, who currently owns the UFC bantamweight and featherweight belts. Brazilian publication Combate is reporting that this is indeed the case.
