Husband of Rachael Ostovich, Arnold Berdon released on bond, gets charge reclassified

Early Sunday morning on the 18th of November, UFC flyweight Rachael Ostovich and her husband and fellow MMA fighter, Arnold Berdon got into an altercation that resulted in the breaking of Ostovich’s orbital bone and Berdon’s arrest. Berdon was charged with a second-degree murder attempt for the incident that took place in the couple’s Waianae home in Honolulu, Hawaii. However, MMAFighting has now reported that Berdon’s charge has been changed to a second-degree assault (felony) and he was released today on a bond of $75,000.

And if things go according to plan, he believes he’ll retire as the best wrestler in the history of the division. “If I’m not the best right now, today, I will be the best by the time I end my career,” Blaydes told MMAjunkie this week. “Because I’m going to end my career with at least 75 career takedowns.”

Former Cage Warriors champion “Meatball” Molly McCann will face Priscila Cachoeira at UFC on ESPN+ 5 in London on Mar. 16. The flyweight matchup was first reported by Combate and later confirmed by the UFC. McCann (7-2) will be searching for her first UFC victory after dropping her debut against Gillian Robertson at UFC Fight Night 130 in May. The loss not only snapped her six-fight win streak, but she missed weight by one pound over the 126-pound flyweight limit.

If you’re not familiar with Sergey Pavlovich, you can’t really be faulted. Alistair Overeem admits he didn’t know who Pavlovich was either when the bout was first offered.

Adesanya went from a virtual unknown to being ranked sixth in the middleweight division in only a matter of a couple months. In his most recent effort, Adesanya defeated Derrick Brunson at UFC 230 which put him into the top ten of the rankings. Following his stoppage victory over Brunson, Adesanya stated his desire to fight for the title in his next octagon appearance. However, with Robert Whittaker and Kelvin Gastelum booked for early in 2019, Adesanya will most likely have to win another fight before being granted that opportunity.

Apparently, his former opponent Conor McGregor received a very similar proposition, as he was recently offered $5 million to battle a Chinese kickboxer in a three-round contest. “I’ll give you a funny one,” McGregor’s head coach John Kavanagh said during a recent appearance on The True Geordie Podcast (transcript via Express). “I had a guy message me just a few days ago – a Chinese kickboxer [who] wanted to do three rounds with Conor for $5 million.”

One of the more unpleasant stories to come out in the MMA world recently is the one concerning UFC flyweight prospect, Rachael Ostovich who was attacked by her husband, Arnold Berdon earlier this week. Ostovich was attacked by Berdon on November 18 at around 2:00 AM in their Waianae home in Honolulu, Hawaii. Berdon has since been arrested on charges of second degree attempted murder. Which potentially leads up to a life sentence if convicted.
