Paulie Malignaggi goes after “quitter” Conor McGregor on Twitter
Over the weekend, in the main event of UFC 229, former UFC lightweight and featherweight champion Conor McGregor returned to the Octagon after two long years away, where he attempted to reclaim the UFC lightweight belt from undefeated champion Khabib Nurmagomedov. Regrettably for McGregor and his throngs of dedicated fans, he came up short.
After three, tough rounds, the Irish MMA star found himself locked up in a Khabib Nurmagomedov choke in the fourth, and was quickly forced to tap out.
Since then, Conor McGregor has been the target of quite a bit of hate on social media — entirely expected for a fighter as polarizing as he is.
Of all the hate Conor McGregor has received on social media, however, none was easier to anticipate than the remarks of Paulie Malignaggi.
Malignaggi, who briefly served as a training partner for Conor McGregor ahead of his 2017 showdown with Floyd Mayweather, has been vocal in his distaste for McGregor ever since, and wasted no time in remarking on social media.

Although Conor McGregor and Paulie Malignaggi began their relationship as training partners, their relationship quickly disintegrated when Malignaggi began to feel as though he was being represented unfairly by McGregor and his team. Before long, he’d left the Irishman’s training camp, and has taken every opportunity to trash talk him since.
