Shavkat Rakhmonov responds to callout from UFC 299 winner Jack Della Maddalena

Shavkat Rakhmonov is responding to the callout from UFC 299 winner Jack Della Maddalena.

This past Saturday, March 9th, at UFC 299, saw Jack Della Maddalena (17-2 MMA) defeat Gilbert Burns (22-7 MMA) by KO at 3:43 of Round 3 in a welterweight bout (see that here). Maddalena also earned a $50K fight of the night bonus.

The 27-year-old Australian now has 17 consecutive wins and has not lost in the cage since May of 2016.

Burns, 37, has now lost 2 in a row following Saturday’s fight, his previous unanimous decision loss came against Belal Muhammad (23-3 MMA) in May of last year.

Maddalena, when speaking with Joe Rogan in his post-fight interview, called out the unbeaten Shavkat Rakhmonov:

“There’s some scary people in this division, and I’m the f*cking scariest. Shavkat Rakhmonov, I think me and you could make a hell of a title eliminator. One of the best in the business, let’s go!”

Rahkmonov (18-0 MMA) is undefeated in the Octagon, his latest victory coming against Stephen Thompson (17-7 MMA) this past December at UFC 296. The Kazakstan has defeated the likes of Alex Oliveira (25-15 MMA), Neil Magny (29-11 MMA), and Geoff Neal (15-6 MMA) to name a few.

The 29-year-old ‘Nomad’ is not backing away from Maddalena’s callout but is issuing a warning.

Shavkat Rakhmonov took to ‘X‘ with the following response:

I respect your courage and confidence Jack, but you will face the same fate as my previous opponents

It would be quite the battle, as both fighters are undefeated under the UFC banner.
