Nick Diaz is back!

This according to ESPN’s Brett Okamoto who reported earlier today that the former Strikeforce champion would be returning at UFC 235 to battle Jorge Masvidal.

“Breaking: The UFC is close to finalizing Nick Diaz’s return to the Octagon, per Dana White. The fight is Jorge Masvidal at UFC 235 on March 2 in Las Vegas. Diaz’s first appearance in more than four years. Story coming soon to @ESPN.” – Brett Okamoto

Nick Diaz has not competed inside the octagon since UFC 183 in January of 2015 where he suffered a decision loss to Anderson Silva. That bout was later ruled a no-contest after Anderson Silva and Nick Diaz both failed their drug tests.

The former UFC welterweight title challenger, Diaz, will have his hands full with Jorge Masvidal.

“Gamebred” has gone 3-2 over his past five octagon appearances, scoring stoppage wins over Jake Ellenberger and Donald Cerrone in that time.
