Tony Ferguson updates fans amid recent troubles: ‘I’m in good spirits’

Former UFC interim lightweight champion Tony Ferguson is currently embroiled in some unfortunate personal struggles, as he was recently hit with a restraining order from his wife.

Nonetheless, Ferguson says he is in good spirits, and that along with the UFC and his management, he is working on finding the help he needs.

The former champ updated his fans on social media this week.

“Thank you all for the great support!” Ferguson wrote. “I’m in a great spirits, UFC & Management are helping me find the help we need. I’m getting all of your messages, keep em’ coming!!! While Tony Ferguson is not currently allowed to see his wife, she has made it clear that he is both a good husband and father, and that her recent restraining order is primarily about getting him the help he needs after some troubling activity.

“Tony Ferguson is a good husband and good father to our son,” Cristina Ferguson wrote in a statement to ESPN. “The current legal proceedings are a part of a process to ensure that Tony will receive the help necessary to continue being the best possible, as well as to pursue his passion and career as a UFC champion fighter. All positive well wishes are sincerely appreciated and I hope our privacy will be respected.”

According to a report from MMAjunkie, Ferguson has recently gone days without sleep, and stated that he believes there is a computer chip in his leg, and that there is somebody hiding in his walls. During these episodes, he’s reportedly torn his house apart. Based on these reports, its good to hear that the former champions spirits are up.
