VIDEO | Nate Diaz and Dana White disagree on fight plans backstage
Shortly after last night’s UFC Phoenix card wrapped up, UFC President Dana White partook in a interview with Megan Olivi. Mid-way through this interview, we were treated to a rare Nate Diaz appearance.
After White and Diaz greet each other, Olivi asked Diaz if he’d be fighting again soon.
“Yeah, we’re coming,” Diaz said, seemingly confirming that he intends to fight again in the near future.
Once Nate Diaz has wandered off, Olivi asked Dana White if he believes the fan favorite will fight again.
Let’s just say he disagreed with Diaz’s take on the situation.
“No,” White said bluntly when asked if Diaz will fight again soon, quickly circling back to a discussion about UFC Phoenix’s Paul Felder vs. James Vick main event.

Nate Diaz has not fought since August of 2016, when he gave up a close, majority decision to his arch rival Conor McGregor. In his next most recent fight, he shocked the world be submitting McGregor in a fight he accepted on just 11 days’ notice, ending the Irishman’s unbeaten streak in the UFC.
Since then, Diaz has been glued to the sidelines. Though he was briefly scheduled to return to action opposite streaking lightweight contender Dustin Poirier at UFC 230 in November, this plan was nixed when Poirier sustained an injury.
More recently, the fan favorite has expressed interest in a title fight with reigning lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov, who he has plenty of bad blood with.
Do you think we’ll see Nate Diaz fight again soon, or are you with Dana White on this one?
