VIDEO | Watch Junior dos Santos serenade his two-year-old son after KO win
Junior dos Santos is one of the most ferocious knockout artists in UFC history. By all accounts, he’s also one of the nicest guys to ever step foot into the cage.
Last night, in the main event of UFC Wichita, the former UFC heavyweight champion showed both sides of his personality, first melting Derrick Lewis with a salvo of second round strikes, then melting hearts by singing Happy Birthday to his two-year-old son Bento.
Watch the former champ Junior dos Santos serenade his young son in his post-fight interview with Jon Anik below:
With his thudding, stoppage victory of Derrick Lewis, Junior dos Santos is now on an impressive three-fight streak — a commendable feat considering some members of the MMA community pronounced his career dead after his knockout losses to Alistair Overeem and Stipe Miocic.
This streak has been composed of a lopsided decision win over former World Series of Fighting champion Blagoy Ivanov, a second-round knockout of formerly undefeated Australian slugger Tai Tuivasa, and now, a finish of the recent title challenger Derrick Lewis.
With the wind of these wins in his sails, dos Santos is now cruising toward a shot at the UFC heavyweight title, and the chance to reclaim the belt that he once owned. That being said, it sounds like a fight with fellow knockout artist Francis Ngannou could be first.
What do you think the future holds for Junior dos Santos after UFC Wichita?
