WWE Champion challenges UFC flyweight title holder Henry Cejudo
Nikki Bella is not the only professional wrestling star taking notice of UFC flyweight kingpin Henry Cejudo, so is the reigning WWE Champion.
That’s right, the WWE champion Daniel Bryan, who is also the brother-in-law of the aforementioned Nikki Bella, recently issued a challenge to “The Messenger” in an interview with ABC 15 Sports.
“There [are] a lot of people who want to think that they’re the best – lots of them, but guess what? Not a single one of those people are Daniel Bryan,” he asserted (transcribed by BloodyElbow). “There [are] a lot of people that go around and they hold championship titles and they think they’re so tough, and they think that they’re this, and they think that they’re that. None of them are Daniel Bryan.”
Daniel Bryan continued:
“Henry Cejudo, a Valley resident, who just defended his UFC championship last Saturday, wants to go out on a date with my sister-in-law,” the professional wrestler continued. “Guess what? Henry Cejudo, you’re not the man that Daniel Bryan is. You fight Daniel Bryan, you go down every time. That’s why I’m the best.”
Following his shocking 32-second TKO victory over reigning bantamweight kingpin TJ Dillashaw at UFC Brooklyn, Henry Cejudo received some high praise from Total Bella’s star Nikki Bella.
Nikki, the former longtime girlfirend of John Cena, suggested that she and Henry should grapple and drink wine some time in the near future.
Those comments clearly did not sit well with Nikki’s brother in law, Daniel Bryan, who has gone from hero to villian in recent months under the WWE banner.
Before attempting to settle his beef with Henry Cejudo, “the new” Daniel Bryan must first take on AJ Styles at this weekend’s Royal Rumble event.
As for “The Messenger“, it is expected that the former Olympic Gold Medalist will rematch TJ Dillashaw in a bantmaweight contest in his next octagon appearance.
This weekend’s WWE Royal Rumble event will also feature former UFC Champions Brock Lesnar and Ronda Rousey.
